Specific Core Requirements—College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

If your major falls outside the traditional disciplines (e.g., international studies, individually structured), contact the CLAS Advising Office for details information on core requirements.

Biological and Physical Sciences, Mathematics: One of the two required courses must have a laboratory, and it cannot be in the same discipline as the student’s major.  

Humanities: Humanities majors may take one course from the humanities list or two courses from the arts list. Other majors must take one course from the humanities list.

Behavioral Sciences: Social science majors must take two courses from the behavioral sciences list. Other majors must take one course from the behavioral sciences list.

Social Sciences:  Behavioral science majors must take two courses from the social sciences list. Other majors must take one course from the social sciences list.
