MATH 4390 - Game Theory


Begins with an introduction to the mathematical theory of games and the definition of a solution, including extensive and normal forms of representation. The fundamental minimax theorem is presented first as the foundation for two-person matrix games, then extended with fixed point theory to other games. Principles of dominance and solution methods are presented, plus applications to economics, political science, engineering, and other fields. An introduction to n-person game theory is included, with basic terms and concepts. Prereq: MATH 2421, 3191 and 3800/4810. Cross-listed with MATH 5390. Max hours: 3 Credits. Semester Hours: 3 to 3
