LCRT 5810 - Literacy development through Language Acquisition


Provides students with an opportunity to examine current research on language acquisition and development, and to apply their knowledge to the learners in their teaching situation. The course focuses on language development and use in educational settings and addresses learners with English as their first language, second-language learners of English, bi-dialectal speakers and bilingual speakers. Students collect and analyze language samples, evaluate teaching materials and examine teaching techniques in light of the material covered in the course. Max hours: 3 Credits.
