HIST 4504 - Animals in U.S. History


Human-animal relationships offer powerful and unexpected perspectives on the American past. An eclectic range of readings and viewings, written assignments and contemplative experiences will contextualize contemporary practices, beliefs, and ethics – vegetarianism, hunting, pet-keeping, and many others – in historical context.
