SOCY 3050 - Sociology of Education

Drawing from theories in the sociology of education, this course evaluates the relationship between race, ethnicity, gender, class, immigration status and educational experiences, aspirations, and outcomes. Topics include socialization, tracking, educational policy, college access, and educational equity. Prereq: sophomore standing or higher or permission of instructor. Term offered: spring.
