ENGL 5135 - English Language Study

Introduces students to varieties of English in use today, while tracing range of “new Englishes” back to origins of language. Students will develop an understanding of English as a global language, why it spread throughout the world and how, paying specific attention to print history of English and relationship to other print languages.
