CEMT 5233 - Construction Cost Estimating


This course presents the application of scientific principles to rough and detailed cost estimating; cost indexing; bidding document, process and contract documents; quantity take off; concepts and statistical measurements of the factors involved in direct costs; overhead costs, cost markups and profits; project financing and cashflow analysis; cost control; computerized estimating and building information modeling; life cycle cost; and value engineering. Students are expected to use RSMeans building construction cost data to develop a detailed cost estimate of a project during the semester. Prereq: CEMT 2100 or CVEN 4230. Max Hours: 3 Credits.
