Investigates architectural thought from antiquity to the present. Begins with a review of Greek ideals and proceeds – through an appreciation of landscape and nature as essential cultural constituents – with a survey of major themes such as Renaissance Humanism, Enlightenment, Rationalism, Romantic Historicism, Neo-Medievalism, the varieties of Modernism, Neo-Eclecticism and the most recent directions in landscape and garden design.Semester Hours: 3to 3
