Explores shamanic religious traditions across the world. This form of religion, involving spiritism, animism, trance states, and “mind power,” is the oldest and most widespread religion in world history. Covers the “Shramana” disciplines of India, probable source for the name “Shamanism;” Tibet, Central Asia Korea, China, Japan, Australia; Pacific Island, Native American, and traditional African cultures.Semester Hours: 3to 3
