These degree requirements are subject to periodic revision by the academic department, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences reserves the right to make exceptions and substitutions as judged necessary in individual cases. Therefore, the College strongly urges students to consult regularly with their major advisor and CLAS advisor to confirm the best plans of study before finalizing them.

Declaring This Certificate

  • All undergraduate students in good standing (including non-degree seeking students) will be admitted to the program. For students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, this requires a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above.

Certificate Requirements

  1. Some mathematical background (including calculus and linear algebra) is recommended.
  2. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA or above in certificate courses with no credit given for courses with grades below B-.
  3. Since a certificate is a University of Colorado Denver certification of a student’s specialized knowledge in an advanced subject area, all courses in the certificate program are expected to be taken in residency at the University of Colorado Denver.
