These degree requirements are subject to periodic revision by the academic department, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences reserves the right to make exceptions and substitutions as judged necessary in individual cases. General Requirements
To earn a degree, students must satisfy all requirements in each of the areas below, in addition to their individual major requirements.

Program Requirements
- Students must complete 15 semester hours in geography.
- The minor is flexible and does not have core requirements. A student can elect to take any combination of GEOG courses, including a minimum of 6 credit hours of upper-division courses.
- Students must achieve a grade of C- or above on GEOG courses that count toward the minor, and must achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
- Undergraduate students may count up to 3 credit hours of independent study (GEOG 3840, 4840, 4880/GEOL 3840, 4840, 4880) towards elective credit in the minor as approved by the undergraduate advisor.
- Students may not earn credit towards the minor for pass/fail courses.
- Students may not double-count courses for the Geography minor and another minor in the department, nor for the Geography major, the Sustainability Minor, or the GISci Certificate.
