These degree requirements are subject to periodic revision by the academic department, and the College reserves the right to make exceptions and substitutions as judged necessary in individual cases. Therefore, the College strongly urges students to consult regularly with their major advisor and CLAS advisor to confirm the best plans of study before finalizing them.

General Requirements
To earn a degree, students must satisfy all requirements in each of the three areas below, in addition to their individual major requirements.
|
Program Requirements
- A total of 36 semester hours must be completed for the Philosophy major* and at least 18 of which must be taken at CU Denver.
- All courses taken at CU Denver must have a C or higher and all transfer courses must have a C- or higher.
- Courses taken at other institutions must either be transferred as direct equivalent to a CU Denver course or be approved by an advisor in the Philosophy Department for application towards the major.
- No more than 6 hours below the 3000 level may be counted toward the major.
- For those students who major in philosophy and minor in ethics, philosophy or philosophy of science, no course can satisfy the requirements for both. For example, if a student takes PHIL 4150, Twentieth Century Ethics, it can only satisfy the requirement for one program offered in Philosophy.
*For those students who qualify for and fulfill the requirements of graduation with Honors, a total of at least 39 hours is required.
