General Music Information
Undergraduate Degree Requirements
The BS in music has a competitive application process. Please refer to the MEIS Web site at http://cam.ucdenver.edu/meis for additional guidelines and information. To be eligible for an audition-based BS in music, students must complete 54 semester hours of music foundation courses and then select one of the three emphasis areas: recording arts, music business or performance. Students must pass a music audition as part of the application proces and pass varying levels of performance proficiency as part of their curricula. Students must complete all major courses with a C/2.0 or higher.

Students must successfully pass a Sophomore Proficiency on their primary instrument or voice in order to be accepted into the Performance emphasis. Students are required to successfully complete a Junior Recital, in addition to the 2-credit PMUS 4200 Senior Recital. PMUS 1410 through PMUS 4430 (15 ensembles)
