The study and practice of human resource management to build effective organizations. This course reviews the process of staffing an organization, motivating and managing employees from the initial steps of describing a position and determining compensation to recruiting qualified and diverse applicants, screening and selecting good employees, hiring, training, motivating, developing and providing feedback to employees; and layoffs and promotions. Contemporary issues concerning managerial flexibility and merit pay will be reviewed. Prereq: PUAD 7002 or PUAD 5002. Cross-listed with PUAD 5220.Semester Hours: 3to 3
