CLDE 5010 - Foundations of Language, Literacy and Culture Designed for veteran and novice teachers to gain an understanding of the broad fields of literacy and language education. Participants examine key educational philosophies based on the writings of important scholars in the field, on topics such as the politics of literacy, the nature of literacy and literacy/cultural identity. The course examines current thought concerning literacy and language learning and teaching from a variety of perspectives and contexts, including classroom, school and community.
