The Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies (ALPS) program is designed to develop outstanding educational leaders. Students will develop in-depth understanding about leadership roles and responsibilities, contemporary educational issues and collaboration, as well as a thorough awareness of legal, financial and political dimensions impacting education.
The ALPS program seeks students who possess:
- High intellectual ability
- Strong academic backgrounds, and
- Clear leadership potential.

The primary responsibility of the administrative leadership and policy studies (ALPS) faculty is to prepare leaders for public education in Colorado and the nation. Currently, the principal license is required for people seeking building-level administrative positions in Colorado. Alternatively, the administrator license may be required for district-level leadership positions in Colorado.
